    The House of Tiny Tearaways

Ben Smith, an assistant producer at Outline Productions, has just been in touch to see if we could help spread the word about the new fourth series of The House of Tiny Tearaways.

If you’re interested in starring or know someone who might be, do give him a call on their hotline: 020 7428 6040

    Here’s his message:

We are looking for all types of people and families who are experiencing all sorts of difficulties with their children, from temper tantrums and sleep problems, to fussy eaters, children with anxieties or phobias, but also parents who are feeling fed up generally, or just in need of a bit of reassurance. We would like to help single parents, step families, families with twins, etc.

Whilst obviously this is a television series for broadcast, it is a great opportunity for all parents, offering free intensive, hands-on support and advice. The programme is not about blame or conflict - our experts and production team approach all situations sensitively and tactfully, and believe strongly in reflecting that many good parents still struggle at times, or have fears about impending parenthood which may need to be allayed. We hope that by featuring such families we can raise awareness and provide hope, education and support for others in a similar situation. Our ethos includes a duty of care and after plan, doing our utmost to make sure families feel positive about their experience from beginning to end.

Obviously it would be great to chat to you and any interested families.

    Kind Regards

    Ben Smith

I’d really like to know whatever possesses adults to go on telly programmes like this - and to expose their kids (and themselves) to national scorn or ridicule! Are people really so obsessed with ‘celebrity’ for themselves that they’re willing to parade their shortcomings on national TV. I find it all very strange - not to mention exploitative of the kids who don’t have a choice in the matter.

well i think the programme is amazing, its not about been on tv otherwise these parents would be dolling themselves up and parading around. you can see these parents have reached a stale mate in the childrens lives and really need some different aspects of parenting because as we all know they don’t come with a manual and each child is unique and very different. sometimes we all need a helping hand for someone to say yes you are doing this right but it’s not working with your child so have you thought of doing it this way. i have two children and a baby and it’s been a shock for everyone so iam thinking of getting intouch.

I would just like to say in response to Jane Walshe who thinks the parents are just parading thier children on TV….What utter nonesence!!!!
I was in the first series of HOTT… (the murphy family)and i was at the stage where we had hospital apointment after hospital appointment….noone could work out why my son would not eat lumps…all his food had to be blended…we couldnt go for days out because he would refuse to eat all day…everyday of the week was scheduled around his eating…i wanted help…it was our last hope…Going on the show made us see things we couldnt see before,it was the best decission i have ever made and still to this day cannot thank Tanya Byron enough…we went on the show to help our child, and i didnt care what it took to do it.
Peolpe who judge such a show need to think before making such comments,i would do anything for my children, and think it is such a shame that some people see it as wanting to be some kind of “celebrity”…
Maybe you havent got children yourself thats why you dont understand,if you have..well,i just hope that one day if you come to a point where you need to better you childs life, you wont stop and think…you will just do whatever it takes……..xx

    What do you think?
